REPETITION

The same applies to diarrhoea. If after the first dose-which should be given immediately after an evacuation-there be an improvement, give no more medicine so long as the improvement continues. Convulsions, spasmodic affections, and all maladies of a remittent character come under this rule. Cleave to this. Watch the results. The, if you have not been practicing with this constantly before you, compare your success with your previous practice.

EDITORIAL

Some of his lectures have always enthralled me, especially one on Lachesis. It appears that a number of homoeopathic physicians refused to use LAchesis. One group of doctors objected to it because it was not available in any dilution below the sixth, and they were committed against infinitesimals. Others threw discredit upon the proving of LAchesis, because the symptoms were too numerous.

CALADIUM AND CIGARETTES

The similimum was becoming the identical. This uncomfortable feeling was constant, its intensity varying from just being appreciable to quite an acute state, on thinking a cigarette might be smoked. This feeling took eight days to gradually wear off. And after eight weeks I am left with no desire whatever to smoke-rather do I find my self avoiding breathing other peoples smoke as uncomfortable.

SOME IMPORTANT REMEDIES OF EAR TROUBLES WITH INDICATIONS

A young girl with very high temperature; much pain; ear, “sticking out”; the redness and swelling over mastoid denoting urgency, and no surgeon to hand, got Hepar 200. When seen, a couple of days later, the whole thing had subsided, temperature, pain and all. But such cases of urgent responsibility, in normal days, one hands over, gladly, to the ear surgeon.

HOMOEOPATHY IN ITS RELATIONSHIP TO HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

Paracelsus was once called in consultation with others to see a very sick man. One diagnosed cholera, another said something else, and a third an “evil spirit”; but Paracelsus said “Arsenic”. Take this for what it is worth, perhaps only a whim of medieval history. But that is what we are-Arsenic, Calcarea, Natrum mur., Phosphorus and all the rest. Not sinful; but just ill humans needing the touch of some potentized natural product.

GLONOINE-NITRO-GLYCERINE

That nitrogen and glycerine should combine to produce such a wildly intemperate blasting agent is incalculable- absolutely unforeseen till “discovered”. But, as a great chemist once said, “no cone could tell, a priori, how even a lump of sugar would behave when dropped into a cup of tea”. Science is the plodding daughter of Experiment: and, as such, Homoeopathy is scientific.
