The intelligent and the educated persons care more for prompt decision and rapid cure that the illiterate and simple-minded village folks who view this loss of time as immaterial if the cure is prompt and the physician pays more attention to his clients. A hasty prescriber cannot earn their approbation and command their confidence.

The duty of a physician is to restore the sick to health. For this purpose, he should possess a good knowledge of Physiognomy and Psychology in addition to that of the Materia Medica. It is a pity that these two subjects, as far as I am aware, are not taught in any College of Homoeopathy and hence the majority of the Homoeopaths are ignorant of them. The mind of a patient is the most important guide in Homoeopathy and unless the temperament of the sufferer is known, right selection is out of the question. In this respect both the science of Physiognomy and Psychology can offer a good deal of help.

I give below hints on the different kinds of features and the remedies that are found to be useful.

To begin with, I shall take up forehead first and then go on dealing with other features.

Hairy forehead with curvilinear arrangement of the hair – Kali- iod.

High (Sign of intelligence) – Lyco.

Small forehead (Greedy and unsympathetic) – Bar-mur (one inch in height); Phyto; Puls; Sepia (112 inches in height).

Slope on both sides – Puls.

Recline form left to right – Agnus; Aur-sulph; Conium; Sil.

Too close wrinkles – Cham; Mur-acid.

Wrinkles apart – Asaf.

Wrinkles curved – Tarax.

Greatly wrinkled in case of both old men and women – Caust; Syph.
