REMEDIES IN PUERPERAL ECLAMPSIA


Gelsemium: Abundant albuminous urine; burning and highly colored; much headache. Veratrum viride: Hypertension; pulse full and slow; throbbing headache; diminished feeling in legs with spasms and tendency to paralysis. Also the following should be consulted: Arsenicum album, Berberis, Digitalis purpureum and Estrin.


Kali phosphoricum: Where there is severe neurasthenia; shoulder be given during the last three months of pregnancy.

Helonias: Albuminuria in pregnancy with somnolence and great weakness; a splendid diuretic where indicated.

Mercurius corrosivus is also recommended in albuminuria of the pregnant with scanty urine frequently voided; thin, yellow.

Terebinthina: Bloody urine.

Cuprum arsenicosum: A grand remedy in pregnancy accompanied by chronic nephritis with urine of garlic odor.

Apis mellifica has oedema appearing suddenly, especially of lower eyelids; general dropsy; very sensitive to pressure from bed suppressed, highly colored, of bad odor, albuminous.

Uranium nitricum: Frequent night urination; urine acid. PAtient in bad humor. Breasts much swollen with much secretion during the last months of gestation.
