RELATA REFERO.

The All-Bengal Medical Students Association, in a letter to the Registrar of the Calcutta University regarding the Syndicates setting up of a committee to enquire and report on teaching in medical colleges and holding of medical examinations, urges that, for full realisation of the aims and objects of the committee, the following procedure be adopted:

(i) The proceedings of the Committee of Enquiry be held in public.

(ii) The medical students and all others directly or indirectly concerned be permitted to have their cases represented before the Committee by counsels.

(iii) The procedure of the Committee of Enquiry be, in general, on the lines of the procedure of the court.

(iv) Persons directly or indirectly concerned with the teaching in the medical colleges and the holding of examinations be allowed to be called in as witnesses before the Committee of Enquiry.

(v) Cross-examinations of the said witnesses by counsels before the Committee of Enquiry be permitted.

The above-mentioned requisition shows that the students have made quite a mighty case of their cause, though these are thoroughly legitimate. But why this obduracy on either side? We await curtain dropping over this bitter episode.
