Case No. 1.
A young married lady, aged 25, resident of a village, was put in my charge on 29-10-46 with the following history. She delivered the child in the month of June 46. The child died after a few days. Afterwards the diarrhoea started and the fever persisted. I noted the following symptoms:-.
1. Fever irregular type, continues since 4 months, rising up to 105 degree.
2. Restless during fever.
3. Painless diarrhoea.
4. Diarrhoea horribly offensive so much so that no body could even live in the same house.
5. Pain in left ovary sensitive to touch indicating some inflammations. Menses offensive, black.
6. Palpitation.
7. Vomiting everything.
8. There was breathing difficulty.
Considering the patients condition to be septic after delivery Pyrogenium 2CO was given on 30-10-46 and the next day fever disappeared and diarrhoea stopped.
Again on 5-11-46 she got the relapse of diarrhoea and fever. Pyrogenium 1M. was prescribed with lots of placebo to be taken every two hours. The patient reported better and became normal within 15 days.
CASE No. 2.
A few months ago I was called for consultation by an officer who wanted to give trial to Homoeopathy for his only grandson. The boy was suffering from fever since long which could not be controlled even by quinine injections. I noted the following history on 25-12-46.
The child aged 2 years, emaciated, pale, was suffering from irregular fever, temperature varying from 100 to 105 and decreasing with profuse perspiration. Minimum temperature not less than 100 degree. The fever was continuous. The child was constipated with little cough which was dry. Bronchitis. Fever had sometimes double rising. The pulse was not in proportion to temperature. Thirst with chill chilliness sometimes in the day time and at midnight occasionally.
Previous history. The child had an attack of small pox 8 months ago. He was not vaccinated at that time. After small pox he suffered from severe attack of diarrhoea which were cured by bismuth and some drugs. The diarrhoea lasted for 3 months. The stools were offensive. After diarrhoea the above type of fever started.
Feeling that the trouble dates from the days of small pox a dose of Malandrinum 200 was given with lot of placebo. No effect. Ars. alb., Bry., Puls., Ipec., Sulph. all had no effect. Urine was examined and found nothing wrong. The blood examination was advised and I got the following report:.
The film shows a relative leucocytosis. All the cells are increased. No active malarial parasite seen. The picture is in favour of pyogenic infection. Upon this on 31-12-46 I gave Pyrogenium 1M with SL to be taken every two hours. The next day fever abated, cough lessened and he passed stools. Then again same dose was repeated on 15-1-47 and after that he has been keeping good health.
CASE No. 3.
A recently married lady aged 20 years was brought to me for treatment and I noted the following history:.
1. Incomplete abortion due to over exertion and she was bleeding since four months. Offensive discharge, the examination showed that uterus was swollen and the condition was septic. Inspite of so much “female trouble” she told none in the family out of shyness till she developed fever and cough. She was running high temperature up to 106 degree since one month sometimes with chilliness.
Pain in both ovaries. The patient was being treated by quinine mixtures etc. in her village as she did not complain about her “female trouble”. I also tried various medicines for fever, Puls., Ars. alb. etc. but to no effect, till I got her examined by lady doctor which gave above report. Upon this septic condition after abortion I prescribed Pyrogenium 200 on 31-1-47 with magic results. Her temperature became max 100 and minimum 98.5 on the next day.
On the third day the temperature became subnormal and she passed two three clots of black blood.
Since then she is keeping good health. A dose of Pyrogen 1M was repeated on 20-1-47.
