LONG FASTS FOR HEALTH

Most facts point to the adulteration of flour as the principal source of the affliction and it is said the bleaching of flour is quite unnecessary (we often grind our won wheat and always use guaranteed whole-meal).CANCER of the female breast is often, alas only too often called by the name which puts fear and distress into most hearts both before and after operation,. when it is not so.

BARKERS DERMATITIS was spoken of by one A.J. Atkins, of Llanelly, at a meeting of the A.U.O.B. Confectioners & Kindred Workers at Nottingham somewhere about August 1925. He stated that half the operatives at Llanelly already had the disease and that the other half were expecting to contract it. The scourge had spread from operatives to employers and so inadequate was the medical treatment that once a man had “caught” the disease he was never completely rid of it.

Some had suffered for eighteen months and others were working with their arms swathed in bandages. “The consuming public did not realize the risk they ran”, he added.

Most facts point to the adulteration of flour as the principal source of the affliction and it is said the bleaching of flour is quite unnecessary (we often grind our won wheat and always use guaranteed whole-meal).

The cure of dermatitis is simple and inexpensive, as all real healing is in Nature and Nature is the only true healer. Fasting cures any form of skin disease, of boils, of any eruption and of either bakers or fish-friers dermatitis. Once case will illustrate the point.

I treated a master-baker and confectioner upwards of eight years ago; he had been obliged to call in a man to take his place in the shop and bakehouse (at a cost of several pounds a week), was not allowed to handle anything in either the shop or bakehouse and had been for three weeks, in the doctors care with the “curative” (?) usage of ointments and dressings. I soon persuaded him to fast in the manner of arguments peculiar to me and in ten days there was no trace of the angry sores. And the poor young medico thought at last he had found a patient to respond to the works of a chemical factory !.

It is written that a specialist in disorders of the skin was once asked why he had taken up that branch of the profession. His reply was three-fold. “Firstly because they never call me up in the night, secondly because they never get better of it, and lastly, they do not die of it.” If what I have seen in advanced and heavily suppressed cases of psoriasis, lupus and the severe forms of skin disease generally after medical and most herbal practice is typical of results I would only prescribe for it I had one of them myself, I can quite credit the truth of one of the three statements the great man of orthodoxy made.

CANCER of the female breast is often, alas only too often called by the name which puts fear and distress into most hearts both before and after operation,. when it is not so. The death roll from either cancer, operations shock and drugs to kill the pain after operation, or from the latest toy of the profession, radium, is too well known to be commented upon here. Yet I have seen abnormalities where an operation has been ordered disappear in as few four days (twice), seven days (once) and twelve days (also once), in the majority of instances from twenty to forty days on nothing but fasting and water.

I have never seen a dietetic cure of cancer and in the attempts I have seen made to reduce the swelling or lump by means of oranges or orange juice only once have I seen a case righted. That was two years ago on a diet of two oranges a day, plus cold water freely taken; in the several other cases I experimented upon with this health-preserving fresh fruit, an increase of pain or swelling has speedily caused me to cut off the treatment and proceed with water only, as I usually do.

The solitary case of successful end-results with oranges and water took thirty-six days. I should day without the fruit a third of the time might have answered. With cancer of the rectum I have had no success though it is only fair to say that the only three cases I have tested the fasting were all upon males of past middle-age, were medically “hopeless” ones of four or more years standing and not the kind in the incipient states (which may be “piles”), I should accept or advise upon to-day.

I do not advise any person suffering from cancer anywhere near the medically hopeless stage to try the efficacy of the fasting cure. The same remarks apply to any advanced case of diabetes, tuberculosis, or any other constitutional and prejudiced with “scientific” efforts to check the progress of disease the time when fasting may prove what I think it is, or is given the chance to do so, will be when, as I feel is gradually but surely coming, the orthodox profession will try the fasting cure to its limits and faint not at the length of days required in anything and everything and at any stage.

When fasting (not half measures ) is put into process in conjunctivitis, leukaemia, dropsy, Brights disease or any other of the hundred and one disorders of civilization or mankind the whole world over in the incipient stages, it is the touch of magic and often amazes even one so accustomed to watching it at work as myself, and even in those who pass as normal in general health and can pass examination for heavy insurance risks, a diet solely confined to water for a month or more is easily done when intellect and flesh work together and is Natures surest prescription for surpassing all diets for the prolongation of life and the renewal of youth, mental faculties, sight, hearing, memory and physical attributes.

It is very nearly, if not absolutely, a cure-all, and, under competent supervision (if for more than ten days) and with the aid of friction and blood stimulation with water from a bowl with the human hands, a therapeutic measure all would-be healers should practise upon themselves in preparation for the making of a disease-free era.

I should like to have said something about the amazing result of fasting I have seen in incipient stages of such common afflictions as Glaucoma, deafness and other menaces to the Divine gifts of sight and hearing but space is limited, yet “Wisdom is justified of Her children !” “Prove all things,” says my guide and for sixteen years I have lived in and pondered over, the miracles (falsely so-called) of fasting. Where feasible of success also systems of correct feeding, exercise and “thinks.”.

Here a brief account of my own first experience in fasting a human being may be of interest to show how, firstly, thought precedes action, how a fast is best determined upon and how, if carried out in the philosophic state of mind of a creature of the “lower” orders (which is not supposed to think and therefore shows no fear though it may show unrest), it is by no means the ordeal many critics of fasting (people who have never faster a week in their lives even some who have hardly ever missed a meal) make it appear by trying to imagine its effects.

Why the average man, otherwise educated and intelligent, will faint at the mere thought if, after feeding and drinking to repletion, he is told his next meal will not be forthcoming. Which shows not only how much more powerful is the mind than the body in all the works of mankind, but how destructive and obstructive to the higher life in prospect for all nations and individuals is wrong thinking.

Well, I had been under the care of a most unorthodox medico who believed in short fasts and restricted diet for the treatment of chronic disease (quite sound and often effective in the tussle with functional disorders), for sixteen weeks. Under his regime I lived on water four days in each of those sixteen weeks (from Sunday night to Thursday night) : the other three days on a frightfully restricted diet of what I now know by its balance to be an out-of-date system of being fed without being nourished.

I have done some frightfully hazardous and agonizing things in the course of my quest for knowledge (gained from actual experience), quite often against all orthodox belief, but never have I done anything to surpass in damaging effect upon many parts of both the physical and mental structures (seen and unseen matter), the self-torture of this cat and mouse act, performed as it was with a sentence of death as an end-result to what my well meaning physician prescribed as a means to any prolonging existence.

If Nature is cruel (she is exacting but never puts a burden upon any of Her creations, especially us humans, heavier than our backs can bear) she knows of no refinement of torture to equal the course and end-result of most man-made systems of attempting to cure our diseases. After those sixteen weeks of “science” I was ready for anything I made a plunge in the dark on my own and began to eat ferociously of raw, fresh fruit and nuts, the inspiration to do so coming from a reading of Genesis i. 29- 30.

The effect of this all too pure diet or too quick a return in practice to a beautiful theory, which may be some long day hence illustrated by the carnal habits of the newly born and clearer thinking race than ourselves, was to take what little remaining strength I had, throw my mind into a state of chaos bordering upon insanity and impel me to think, correctly, as events proved, every food and drink on earth except water, was poison to my disordered body. I had one gleam of sanity left the determination to either kill myself or cure myself by fasting.
