ESOTERIC “FACULTY”.

Between 1937 and 1941 many events, godly and ungodly, happy and unhappy, wise and silly, passed over this humanly huge planet of ours; likewise over the heterogeneous legislature of Bengal. The diverse interests in the legislature have their opportunist apostles and their opposing cavillers, but so far as the “Faculty of Homoeopathy” is concerned both sides have been equally nonchalant.

When subtleties of policy or politics drive a legislator to recite an enquiry about the fate of the in utero Faculty, an oracular reply is forth with conceived and pronounced throwing no light on the subject. For the whole three-quarters of the official year performances at the temple of oracle witnessed no interest of the pilgrims in the affairs of the “Faculty”. It has, however, been managed to keep the wind quivering with a sense of something being done although the process of doing or sign of its progress remains obscure and unending.

The plebeian homoeopathic practitioners, as distinct from the medical plutocrats, have been left in the cold shade and have thus been quickened with irresistible curiosity as to the destiny of the much longed-for Faculty. In the meantime pedlars of bogus medical degrees are catering their wares with impunity, humiliating the profession and abashing the State. How long will this condition be allowed to run?.
