REVERSIBLE PATHOLOGY.

When we see pathology disappear while our patients are under the influence of a well-selected Homoeopathic drug, one that has been selected for a patient because of similarity of the patient’ s sufferings to the recorded reactions experienced by healthy provers while experimenting with the same drug,it is very gratifying both to the physician and the patient. We know, or think we know, that somatic life ?Some, the whole physical organism;somatic life the life that keeps living cells from becoming victims of their environment,m as after death. in health controls cellular life and that as long as somatic life is present in he body, even though health is disturbed (disease)this

force which we call somatic life tends to store control of cellular life. this has always been a concept of Homoeopathic philosophy although it has been expressed indifferent words., As this control is regained., At times we have seen a well established pathology disappear,.At other times we have seen its power to produce distressing symptomatology markedly reduced, so that the individual is again able to function in a fairly satisfactory manner.

There are many known instances of the disappearance of pathology even without any medicaments having been used, common warts being on astounding example. At the other extreme, goodmen have gone on record as accepting the fact of the disappearance of well-authenticated cases of cancer for which no treatment has been used. This is the old is medicatrix nature).

Personally,I have been convinced, rightly or wrongly, that cysts of the thyroid, rectal polypus, and calcareous deposits in joints are at times reversible, while the patient is under the influence of a well-selected Homoeopathic drug, after being seemingly irreversible previously.

Members of this society have probably all convinced themselves that the are others pathological states which respond to treatment with well-selected homoeopathic drugs. However this is not enough if we washtub able to reach the minds of the young doctors of today and so continue to make Homoeopathic treatment widely available throughout out country and the world. What we must have is sound evidence to back up our opinions. No scientist will off handedly accuse us of dishonesty, but they will say we have failed to prove our points objective,y,our evidence fails to satisfy the in critical minds.

Years ago Burnett in England observed a clouding of the crystal line lens when persons consumed great quantities of salt; he called this clouding cataract. Whether it was what we know now as cataract,or edema, or some other process at work in the lens,we cannot know at this time.At any rate,he found it reversible by talking salt out of the patient;’s dietary regimen. When a similar coldness occurred in the lens in sick persons he found that it was also sometimes reversible while the patient was undergoing Homoeopathic treatment with well-selected Homoeopathic cases that seems to be cataract according to modern standards,.

After one hundred and fifty years of the planned use of the similar drug in :”disease.” to my knowledge no comprehensive lists of the various types of pathology that have been observed to reverse themselves has ever been made. If this group, composed of sincere practitioners of homoeopathy, could make up such a list by reporting their observations,it would at long last be a step in the right direction toward clearing up any confusion that exists in the minds of men as to what is necessary for us to yet do to impress the minds or young medical men more favorably toward simile. Letters to the editor might be used to make a published record of such instances., -R.H.F.

Plans are being made of another large joint meeting of the Southern-Pan American at Hotel Jung,New Orleans,Louisiana, on October 27-31, 1953. Early reservations are more necessary in New Orleans than in any other large city in the United States. This is the most interesting and entertaining city many of us have ever visited.
