A LETTER TO THE EDITOR

In reply to my questions she told me that she had had pains in the back for some considerable time with a feeling of numbness. There was often a bubbling sensation in the region of the kidneys, and that the pains were worse when tired. This seemed to indicated Berberis vulgaris and I promptly gave her four drops in the 30th decimal potency. She returned in the two days.

DEAR SIR, I had a peculiar experience a short time ago which I think is worth recounting, and one which will demonstrate the efficacy of Homoeopathy when the right remedy is used.

A Mrs. F. of Sydney, brought her daughter to me for treatment for seborrhoea, a greasy skin disease. She was a large woman with a pale, earthy complexion, and I couldnt thinking that she appeared to stand in need of treatment equally as much, if not more, than her daughter. When I had finished with the daughter I asked them to return in two days time daughter will have to come alone. I am expecting a call to go into hospital at any time now for an operation for gall-bladder trouble.” I then told her to sit down again.

Upon me asking her as to how she felt, she surprised me by saying, ” I want to sing.” I said,” You want to what?” She repeated, “I want to sing.” Acting on the homoeopathic principle of “leaving well alone”. I gave no further medicine, but asked her to return in a weeks time. She did. I again asked her how she felt. Her reply was, “I still want to sing. I have no aches or pains, and I have canceled the operation.

I have allowed several months to go by before relating this experience. None of the previous troubles have recurred.

All of your books relating to medicine, health and disease are on my shelf, and in none of them I find a better case for Homoeopathy as against the use of the surgeons knife.
