A BRILLIANT CURE OF FACIAL NEURALGIA. FACIAL neuralgia is one of the most difficult diseases to handle. Orthodox medical treatment consists mainly in various applications and injections which are merely given to deaden the pain, not to cure the disease. In addition tonics and various medicines are prescribed which usually prove quite useless. When all has failed, and the suffering is quite unbearable, nerve stretching and nerve excision are advised, but even that drastic treatment is apt to prove unavailing. The pain persists, and when a large part of the nerve is cut away the danger arises that the patient will lose his eyesight.

The chemist, in sending me this letter, wrote to me: “This certainly is a rather unusual remedy for facial neuralgia. The lady got the tip from Boerickes Materia Medica, in which she read the words, Orbital neuralgia, better pressure and rest.” Occasionally a layman can cure homoeopathically diseases which no orthodox physician can cure. Besides, homoeopathic remedies are given in such small quantities that if the wrong remedy is chosen it will do no harm. Asafoetida is a medicine which is known to orthodox medicine.
